A possible resonator
Models of the passages suggest the crest could resonate sound, though they cannot recreate an exact living call.
Duck-billed relative
Parasaurolophus was a hadrosaur, with a broad snout and batteries of teeth for processing plants.
Different crests
Named species differ in crest shape, including long tubular and shorter curved forms.
Growing into it
Juvenile specimens show that the crest developed as the animal grew.
Two feet or four
Its limb anatomy allowed movement on the hind limbs as well as a four-footed stance.
