A REAL DINOSAUR. A SUSPICIOUSLY FAMILIAR PERSONALITY.

BRACHIOSAURUS.

Above the drama.

You see the bigger picture. Sometimes because you have emotionally left the conversation. Your presence is calming, your perspective enormous, your response time negotiable.

THE ACTUAL SCIENCE STARTS HERE

Meet the real Brachiosaurus.

The jokes are ours.
The animal was very real.

WHEN
154–150 million years ago
ON THE MENU
Herbivore
LENGTH
About 18–22 m
BODY MASS
Roughly 30–50 tonnes

Longer arms

Its forelimbs were longer than its hind limbs, producing a high-shouldered silhouette unlike many other sauropods.

High browsing

Its long neck and body proportions made elevated vegetation accessible.

A North American original

The type specimen was discovered in Colorado in 1900 and named by Elmer Riggs in 1903.

A famous identity mix-up

The celebrated African skeleton once called Brachiosaurus brancai is now usually placed in the genus Giraffatitan.

Air-filled architecture

Hollow spaces in vertebrae are part of a sauropod body plan associated with air sacs and reduced skeletal weight.

Built for land

Modern interpretations place these animals on land, replacing older depictions of giants needing water to support their bodies.

A little room for discovery.

Brachiosaurus is incompletely known, so estimates of proportions and mass vary with the reconstruction.

Is this your prehistoric alter ego?

Eight questions and an optional face scan will settle this. Very unofficially.
